Best Disney World Restaurants: My Top 10 Foodie Picks

When searching for the best Disney World restaurants, you might think you’re limited to burgers, fries, and chicken tenders. But Disney actually has incredible dining experiences, and there are over 90 sit-down restaurants across the resort.

If you’re a foodie like me, here’s my curated list of 10 favorite Disney restaurants across different categories, including hidden gems that don’t require advance reservations.

My 10 Favorite Disney World Restaurants

Topolino breakfast.

1. Topolino’s Terrace

Location: Disney’s Riviera Resort

Type of dining: Table service

Best for: Best character breakfast at Disney World + exceptional dinner experience

Topolino’s Terrace serves hands-down the best character breakfast at Walt Disney World! The art-themed experience features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy dressed as painters, and the Mickey waffle presentation is absolutely adorable.

What sets this apart from other character meals is that the food quality matches the character experience, and you’re not sacrificing one for the other.

Don’t skip dinner here either! Topolino’s Terrace transforms into a signature dining experience at night with an Italian-inspired menu that’s genuinely impressive.

My favorite items on the menu are the quiche and POG juice for breakfast, chicken rigatoni for dinner, and do NOT miss the ricotta appetizer!

Be Our Guest.

2. Be Our Guest

Location: Magic Kingdom (Fantasyland)

Type of dining: Table service

Best for: Immersive theming and Disney magic

Dining inside Beast’s castle makes Be Our Guest one of the most magical restaurant experiences at Disney World.

The theming alone is worth the visit! You can explore three different dining rooms, each with incredible attention to detail. The West Wing features the enchanted rose, the Ballroom has falling snow, and the Castle Gallery showcases music boxes and artwork.

Parent tip: Request NOT to sit in the West Wing if you have little ones who you think will get too overwhelmed or nervous!

The Beast roams the castle, but this isn’t structured character dining, and he doesn’t stop for photos. The menu is prix fixe, meaning you’ll pay one price for an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious!

Cinderella.

3. Cinderella’s Royal Table

Location: Magic Kingdom (inside Cinderella Castle)

Type of dining: Table service

Best for: The ultimate princess experience

Cinderella’s Royal Table is the gold standard of princess dining! You’re eating dinner inside Cinderella’s castle while meeting multiple Disney princesses throughout your meal. For families with young princess fans, this is THE Disney dining experience they’ll adore.

The experience starts before you even sit down, when you meet Cinderella herself for photos in the castle lobby. During your meal, other princesses visit your table. Pair this reservation with a trip to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique earlier in the day for the ultimate princess experience!

Tusker House.

4. Tusker House

Location: Animal Kingdom (Africa)

Type of dining: Table service

Best for: Character variety and diverse menu options

Tusker House is a character dining buffet style, which means Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy come visit your table while you eat, and they’re all dressed in adorable safari outfits! The buffet setup is perfect for families with picky eaters because everyone can grab what they want without any menu battles.

The theming here is fun and vibrant, with music that gets you in the Animal Kingdom spirit. Characters make their rounds to every table, so you’ll get plenty of photo ops. The buffet has familiar comfort foods plus African-inspired dishes if you’re feeling adventurous.

I love it because it’s relaxed character dining where you’re not rushed, and there’s genuinely something for everyone!

Pro tip: Book an early reservation before the park opens, and you’ll have a head start on rides + lines after breakfast!

Brown Derby.

5. The Hollywood Brown Derby

Location: Hollywood Studios (Hollywood Boulevard)

Type of dining: Table service

Best for: Food quality and the famous Cobb salad

The Hollywood Brown Derby serves what might be THE most famous salad at Disney World! I’m not typically a salad person, but the Cobb salad here genuinely lives up to the hype, and it’ll change your opinion on salads.

The restaurant captures old Hollywood glamour with photographs of celebrities lining the walls. What many people don’t know is that while the main dining room requires reservations, the patio is walk-up seating for lunch or dinner. You can order from the full menu (yes, including the Cobb salad!) without needing to book 60 days in advance!

This makes it perfect for spontaneous dining when you’re at Hollywood Studios and want something more elevated than quick service.

Nomad Lounge - Secluded atmosphere.

6. Nomad Lounge

Location: Animal Kingdom (near Tiffins restaurant)

Type of dining: Lounge (walk-up, no reservations)

Best for: Escaping the crowds and relaxing atmosphere

Nomad Lounge is one of those rare Disney spots where you can actually forget you’re in a theme park. Grab a table on the veranda, and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported somewhere far away, not surrounded by thousands of people in the middle of Florida!

The churros here are a MUST, and they’ve got great small plates and creative drinks if you want more than a snack. No reservations needed means you can pop in whenever you need a break from the Animal Kingdom heat. Pro tip: get there when it opens for the best shot at the veranda tables with the views. Trust me, it’s worth it!

Tambu Lounge.

7. Tambu Lounge

Location: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Type of dining: Lounge (walk-up, no reservations)

Best for: Getting ‘Ohana flavors

Tambu Lounge is your secret weapon when you can’t get an ‘Ohana reservation, or when you just want a more laid-back vibe. You can order tons of items from the famous ‘Ohana menu, but in a casual lounge where you pick and choose what you want instead of committing to the whole family-style feast.

Maybe you just want the noodles and pot stickers…Maybe you’re there for the tropical drinks and some appetizers…Whatever you’re craving, you can make it happen without any advance planning!

Secret tip: While at Tambu Lounge, you can mobile order some other favorites from Captain Cook downstairs to complete your Polynesian feast!

Bar Riva.

8. Bar Riva

Location: Disney’s Riviera Resort (pool area)

Type of dining: Pool bar/lounge (walk-up, no reservations)

Best for: Upscale poolside dining and resort escape

Bar Riva feels like a pool bar that got a serious upgrade. The Italian-inspired small plates and sophisticated menu make this feel more like a Mediterranean vacation than your typical theme park resort pool situation!

It’s perfect for a casual lunch when you need to escape the parks for a bit, or just for drinks and snacks if you’re spending the afternoon by the pool. The food quality here surprises people who expect standard poolside fare because you’re getting thoughtful and delicious options!

After I leave, I DREAM of the hibiscus coconut refresher!

Cake Bake Shop.

9. Cake Bake Shop

Location: Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Type of dining: Table service (breakfast, lunch, and tea service)

Best for: Fairytale atmosphere and show-stopping desserts

Cake Bake Shop is sparkly, pink, and straight out of a fairytale—it’s like stepping into a storybook the moment you walk in! The atmosphere alone makes this worth a visit, especially if you have kids who love princess vibes or anyone with a serious sweet tooth.

They’re famous for their GIANT cakes and other incredible sweets that are almost too pretty to eat (almost!). You can come for breakfast, lunch, or afternoon tea service, and each option gives you that same magical, elegant atmosphere.

Walk the BoardWalk before or after to catch street performers and soak in the waterfront views. This is the perfect spot when you want something that feels extra special and indulgent during your Disney trip!

Satu'li Canteen.

10. Satu’li Canteen

Location: Animal Kingdom

Type of dining: Quick service

Best for: Best quick service at Disney World that rivals table service quality

Here it is…my most favorite quick service in all of Walt Disney World!

Satu’li Canteen is proof that quick service doesn’t mean sacrificing food quality. The build-your-own bowl concept lets you choose your base (rice, noodles, or salad), your protein, and your sauce—so many amazing combinations to try!

The customization means everyone in your family can get exactly what they want, and the flavors are bold and fresh in a way that honestly rivals many sit-down restaurants. Plus, the theming inside Pandora makes even a quick service meal feel like an experience.

This is my go-to when I want a hearty, delicious meal without spending an hour at a table. The noodle bowls are particularly amazing, and you can’t go wrong with any of the sauce options!

Cheeseburger spring rolls.

*SECRET BONUS!!* Cheeseburger Spring Rolls

Location: Magic Kingdom (cart outside Adventureland)

Type of dining: Quick service cart

Best for: Best unique quick bite in Magic Kingdom

Okay, I’m cheating a little here…The cheeseburger spring rolls are at a cart, not a restaurant. But they’re my absolute favorite thing to eat for lunch at Magic Kingdom, so they’re making the list! These are one of those unique Disney creations you can’t get anywhere else.

Sometimes the best Disney food isn’t at a table, and these spring rolls are proof. They’re filling enough to call lunch, fun enough to feel special, and quick enough that you’re not wasting precious park time sitting down for a meal. Just walk up when you’re near Adventureland!

Two words: Get them!!

How to Choose the Best Disney World Restaurant for Your Family

Picking restaurants can feel overwhelming when there are SO many options, so here’s how I think about it when planning trips for families:

Theming vs. Food Quality

Sometimes you’re choosing a restaurant for the experience, not the meal, and that’s okay!

Be Our Guest and Cinderella’s Royal Table are about stepping into a different world. The food is good, but you’re really there for the magic. Other times, you want a meal that genuinely impresses, like the Brown Derby’s Cobb salad or Topolino’s dinner service.

Both have their place in a great Disney trip! Think about what matters most for that particular meal.

Character Dining

Character dining is absolutely worth it if you have young kids who love meeting Disney characters. It’s also a smart move because you’re getting character interactions during a meal you’d eat anyway, which saves time standing in separate character lines around the parks.

But if your kids don’t care about characters or they’re older, skip it and put your budget toward other activities!

Quick Service vs. Sit-Down Timing

Sit-down restaurants eat up more of your day. You’re looking at an hour minimum, sometimes closer to two hours for popular spots. Quick service gets you fed and back to the parks fast, especially if you use mobile ordering!

I personally love mixing both throughout a trip. Maybe you do a nice sit-down lunch when everyone needs a midday break, and then grab quick service for dinner so you can stay in the parks for evening shows.

Using Lounges

Lounges are your secret weapon for spontaneity. When you couldn’t get the reservation you wanted, when your plans change, when you just need to sit down and eat something good without the stress…that’s when lounges shine!

They give you flexibility in a vacation where so much requires advance planning. Don’t underestimate how valuable that breathing room can be!

Experience a Thoughtfully Designed Disney Vacation!

As a concierge Disney trip planner, I believe that restaurant planning is SO much more than just securing reservations at the 60-day mark…though yes, I handle that too! When we work together, I’m thinking about how your dining choices fit into your entire trip.

Should we book a character breakfast before rope drop so you’re in the park early? Does it make sense to plan a nice lunch at the Polynesian so you can take a resort break? Would your family do better with quick service most days, so you’re not sitting still when the kids are antsy?

I design your restaurant experiences around your family’s rhythm and preferences, so you’re not just getting a list of reservations. Your dining plan becomes a strategy that supports how you want to experience Disney!
